At Patois Creative Studio, we turn learning into hands-on fun! Our children’s workshops blend creativity with skill-building, from Crafty Math, where numbers come to life through crafting, to exciting DIY projects like puzzle-making, sun catchers, and felt puppets.

Build a Volcano

Join us for a fun and creative day where kids work together to build one giant paper mache volcano while learning important math skills!
  • Shapes & Structures – Discover how different shapes come together to form the volcano.
  • Volume – Learn how to estimate and understand the space inside our volcano.​
  • Symmetry & Balance – See how making both sides equal helps our volcano stand strong.
  • Surface Area – Explore how we can measure the space around our volcano to make it just right.​

Erupt a volcano

A fun-filled session where kids decorate their giant paper mache volcano and then mix common ingredients to make it erupt while applying more math concepts!
  • Scale – Understand how to create a scaled-down diorama around the volcano, learning about sizes and proportions.
  • Safety – Learn basic science safety rules and why wearing goggles is important to stay safe during this exciting experiment!
  • Scientific Reactions – Explore the science behind the eruption as we mix ingredients to create the volcanic blast.

A fun and interactive session where children complete puzzles by arranging pieces in the correct numerical sequence while reinforcing key math concepts!
  • Number Order – Understand how numbers follow a specific order and learn to place pieces in ascending or descending numerical order.
  • Pattern recognition – Identify patterns in numerical sequences, such as skip counting by 2s, 5s, or 10s.
  • Problem Solving – Use critical thinking to figure out which piece fits where in the numerical sequence.
  • Counting & Grouping – Practice counting and grouping puzzle pieces based on their numerical value to complete the sequence.

A bright and cheerful session where kids paint their own suncatchers to hang in a sunny window and watch them come to life with color!
